Ethan Allen coached Yale University to 327 victories from 1946-1968. He coached the Bulldogs to an Eastern Intercollegiate League championship in his first season as head coach. In back-to-back seasons (1947-48), Allen led his teams to the College World Series.
Under Allen's guidance, the Bulldogs captured the Eastern Intercollegiate League championship in 1946, 1947, and 1955, along with Ivy League titles in 1956 and 1957. Four of Allen's players went on to Major League careers, and while at Yale, Allen published eight books.
Allen served as ABCA president in 1956, and was active in dealing with the NCAA Rules Committee.
